Brudnick has been EVP of business development and alliance management at Bioverativ Inc., was CEO of a regional pharmaceutical distribution business, and a strategy consultant at Bain & Company.
Prestige Medical Imaging of Newburgh, New York has added Ken Vaughan as EVP of Sales, Michael Colaiacovo as VP/Managing Partner for the PMI Ohio Region, and Deborah Buonsignore as Account Executive/Applications Specialist. Prior to joining PMI, Vaughan was client director for GE Healthcare, and northeast regional director of corporate sales for Carestream Health. Colaiacovo started with Picker International as a service engineer, transitioned to Alpha Imaging in 1994, and in 2017, became VP of Sales for FujiFilm Medical Northeast Zone. Buonsignore began as an X-ray technologist for the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, and worked for Merry X-Ray and GE Healthcare as a product sales specialist.
Oska Wellness of Carlsbad, California has named Bob Ohlweiler its COO and CFO.
Ohlweiler has spent 30 years with companies like Hewlett-Packard, Kodak, Yahoo!, Razer, and MusicMatch. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Norwich University and an MBA from Purdue University.
Apollo Medical Holdings of Glendale, California has named Eric Chin its CFO, replacing Mihir Shah. It has also eliminated the position of president, currently held by Gary Augusta, and will transfer those duties to co-CEOs Warren Hosseinion and Thomas Lam. Augusta will remain a member of the company board of directors.
NICO Corporation of Indianapolis, Indiana has added Eric B. Timko to its board of directors of the neurosurgical medical device company. Timko is chairman and CEO of OrthAlign Inc., has been president and CEO of Blue Belt Technologies, was president and CEO of NeuroVasx, president of Carol Zeiss Surgical, and vice president of Siemens Medical Systems.

Amid its consideration of a sale or merger, Athenahealth Inc. of Watertown, Massachusetts has accepted the resignation of president, CEO, and board member Jonathan Bush. Chairman Jeff Immelt has been appointed executive chairman; Marc Levine, EVP, CFO, Chief Accounting Officer, and treasurer, will assume greater day-to-day operational responsibilities, and board member Amy Abernethy will advise the executive leadership team on data strategy.
Astellas of Northbrook, Illinois named Nahrin Marino its VP and head of ethics and compliance for the Americas. Marino was previously deputy general counsel of regulatory affairs for Astellas.
ClearHealth Quality Institute of Annapolis, Maryland has named Michael Gomes its CEO and a member of its advisory board. Bill Lewis and Monique Yohanan also joined the CHQI advisory board.
Ahead of the planned closing of its acquisition of Aetna, CVS Health of Woonsocket, Rhode Island announced a revised management structure. Jon Roberts will serve as EVP and COO for CVS Health. Aetna president Karen S. Lynch will be EVP of CVS Health and president of the Aetna business unit. Aetna EVP and head of government services Fran S. Soistman will continue to serve in his current position. CVS Caremark EVP of specialty pharmacy Alan M. Lotvin will be EVP of transformation; Aetna International president Richard di Benedetto will continue to serve in his current position. Aetna EVP, CFO, and Chief Enterprise Risk Officer Shawn M. Guertin will become EVP and CFO of CVS Health. CVS Health EVP and Chief Policy and External Affairs Officer Thomas M. Moriarty will retain his post, as will CVS Health EVP and Chief Medical Officer Troyen A. Brennan. Aetna EVP and head of enterprise strategy Rick M. Jelinek will become EVP of CVS Health. Josh Flum will carry on as CVS Health EVP of Enterprise Strategy and Corporate Development. EVP and Chief Human Resources Officer Lisa Bisaccia will oversee the corporate social responsibility and philanthropic activities of both companies. CVS Health CFO David Denton, Aetna executives Steven B. Kelmar, Thomas J. Sabatino, Jr., and Thomas W. Weidenkopf will remain in their roles until the close of the transaction. Aetna executives Harold L. Paz and Meg McCarthy will remain with the organization for a period of time. Aetna chairman and CEO Mark T. Bertolini will join the CVS Health Board of Directors.
Bruker of Billerica, Massachusetts has named Gerald N. Herman as its CFO. He joined the company in 2016 as VP and corporate controller, and in March 2018 became its interim CFO.
Paragon Bioservices of Baltimore, Maryland named Gerard Fleury its CFO. Fleury was most recently CFO of Pharmaceutics International Inc. (Pii), has been a senior manager at Deloitte & Touche, and holds a bachelor’s degree from Towson University.
Water Street Healthcare Partners of Chicago, Illinois has added Mark Thierer as chairman and Jim Lang CEO of its life sciences services platform. Thierer has worked with Dohmen Life Science Services, The Access Group, Alliance Life Sciences, Health Strategies Group, Triplefin, and Patient Experience Project. Lang is the prior company chair.
The Jacksonville, Florida-based Nemours Foundation has named R. Lawrence Moss president and CEO of the Nemours Children’s Health System, succeeding David Bailey on October 1, 2018. Moss is a pediatric surgeon, biomedical researcher, educator, and health system executive who most recently spent seven years as surgeon-in-chief at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and was the E. Thomas Boles Jr., Professor of Surgery at Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Jackson Healthcare of Atlanta, Georgia added John A. Bardis to its advisory board, upon which he had served from 2015 to 2017. Bardis founded MedAssets, was later Assistant Secretary for Administration at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and is the founder and chairman of U.S. military veteran employment and training agency Hire Heroes U.S.A.
